ABC

There is no 3SM(AD) strip today because Johnny Hart has died.

Johnny Hart, creator of the comic strip 'BC,' died on Easter Day, just as he would have wanted it. Actually, if we're being honest with ourselves, he would have preferred to die on Good Friday, but Easter is almost as appropriate.

That man knew how to ignore humor for the sake of comics.

He knew that controversy makes the funny pages all the funnier.

He knew that Ambrose Bierce was on the right track with that whole "The Dictionary Is Hilarious" concept.

He knew that, after the apocalypse, all of our technology would be destroyed and mankind would have to start from scratch in terms of gadgetry, reinventing the wheel as it were, while simultaneously being completely terribly aware of the milestones of the past, namely Jesus and the New York Times. And, for some reason, geometry.

Regardless, Johnny Hart is dead.

Luckily, we can still read his comic every day, since (just like Shoe) it will be continued via archive drawings by his family. Prepare for another three or four decades of anachronisms and talking ants.

We hope they make Grog a main character again.
